  • Herpes simplex oinis dominant within nerves migrates producing tingling, then a blistering rash. Recurrent in the same site. Complex triggers.
  • Oral.
  • Genital.

Danger signs

  • Genital: in case there is coexisting other venereal illness.Contact GU Clinic.
  • Herpes Zoster Shingles: especially if it affects the face.Contact GP.

General advice

  • Treat as early as possible in "tingling" phase - or as early as possible after blister formation.
  • Avoid spreading

Therapy

  • Acyclovir cream.
  • Analgesia for symptomatic relief.
  • Antiseptics for old lesions if superficial infection.
