- Pain on biting is likely to indicate underlying dental problems -
symptomatic relief and dental Contact your dentist is recommended.
Notes for children- Fluoride drops to strengthen teeth is recommended if the drinking water in
the area is not fluoridated.
- Fluoride toughens enamel and makes it more resistant to decay.
- Teething gels can help relieve pain and discomfort in infant gums.
General advice- FHSAs/Health Commissions can always provide the names of dentists willing
to provide NHS services.
Therapy- Oil of cloves containing medicines/temporary stopper can relieve nerve
pain.
- Oral local anaesthetic/ soothing preparations.
- Local anaesthetic (containing gels/pastilles) depending on age.
