ACTION FOR DYSPHASIC ADULTS

Dysphasia is the total or partial loss of language - speech, reading, writing - following a stroke or head injury. Action for Dysphasic Adults works to overcome barriers faced by people with dysphasia.

It offers the following services and activities.

  • A network of self-help groups.
  • Advice and support are offered through ADA's publications and a telephone helpline (this includes advocacy and legal advice) for people with dysphasia, relatives and professionals.
  • Campaigning to raise awareness of dysphasia and to improve services.
  • Training for professionals who work with people with dysphasia.
