ALCOHOL RECOVERY PROJECT The Alcohol Recovery Project (ARP) is a charity providing residential and
non-residential support to people with all kinds of alcohol problems. ARP is
the largest alcohol service in the UK and is experienced in helping people of
all backgrounds with a variety of alcohol problems. ARP offers a safe and drink-free environment in which people can explore
their drinking behaviour and its effect on their lives. There is a complex
range of reasons why people develop an alcohol problem so ARP offers a wide
range of services. The whole ethos of ARP is based on providing a friendly,
non-judgemental service, that focuses on users identifying, with ARP's support,
the steps they want to take to tackle their difficulties. All ARP services are
free and can be accessed quickly. They include the following. - Structured day care.
- Residential programmes.
- Post-detox assessment.
- Drop-in. Individual and group counselling.
- Welfare rights advice.
- Resettlement support.
- Specialist services for women, black people, lesbians and gay men.
The first point of contact is usually through one of ARP's
shopfronts/counselling centres or through its Assessment Team. Please telephone
