ANGELMAN SYNDROME SUPPORT
GROUPThe Angelman Syndrome Support Group aims to help families come to terms with
a child's diagnosis of Angelman Syndrome, as well as the day-to-day problems
which may occur. The group intends to help parents and their families,
professionals, and all who have a specific interest in this syndrome. The group offers information and contact with other parents and passes on
news and information through a quarterly newsletter. There are regional meetings held throughout the UK which are in the form of
a meeting with a speaker or an outing. Bi-annually, there is a national weekend
conference which brings together families and professionals. The video, Angelman Syndrome - and Insight, is available to all interested
parties. It covers genetics, the clinical features of the syndrome, an
introduction by Dr Harry Angelman, and a brief insight into coping with an AS
child from seven families.
