ANTS (ANN'S NEUROLOGICAL
TRUST SOCIETY) SELF- HELP GROUPANTS (Ann's Neurological Trust Society) was founded in 1980 to raise funds
for research into syringomyelia and to raise awareness within the medical
profession of this and associated conditions. Subsequently, the ANTS Self-Help
Group was set up as a response to the need to offer support and reassurance to
anyone who has this disorder and to their relatives. The ANTS Self-Help Group currently charges £2.50 annual membership and
publishes a newsletter at intervals throughout the year. Within the newsletter
are several contact names and telephone numbers of people who provide a support
network through the UK. The group also produces a factsheet on Syringomyelia, written for the
layman. The group has links with many other organisations.
