THE ARTHROGRYPOSIS GROUP
(TAG)TAG was established in 1984 to give parents contact with other families and
provide information on arthrogryposis for both members and the medical
profession. There are now over 500 members throughout the country, plus links
with others world-wide. The group produces a quarterly newsletter, funds research and organises a
national conference each September. Reports of the talks given at the
conferences are later available for all the membership. TAG also produces
information books for parents and children. A video has been produced,
available for purchase or hire, featuring four members of the group, and an
interview with one of its medical advisors, Mr J Fixsen. In October 1994 TAG organised the first activity holiday for children with
arthrogryposis aged 10-17 years and this is now an annual event. TAG has
regional contacts who keep in touch with the members in their area, and arrange
social meetings. Full membership of TAG is free to adults with arthrogryposis
and parents/guardians of children with the condition resident in the UK.
Associate membership is available to any other interested party for a small
annual subscription.
