BRAIN-DAMAGED CHILDREN AND YOUNG ADULTSStarted in 1969 by parents the Association provides a residential home for
young adults and a respite home for children, all with profound learning
disabilities. Clifton House is a small five bedroomed unit in Foleshill Coventry
providing high quality care in a homely environment. Staff work closely with
parents and schools to ensure continuity of care is maintained. Through the support of the Newliffe Foundation, Art and Play Co-ordinators
attend Clifton House once a week to assist staff in developing creative and
leisure activities. The home also has a Sensory Room which is enjoyed by all.
Clifton House has its own minibus which enables staff to take children out. The
cinema, town centre, theme parks and country parks for picnics, are just a few
of the children's favourite excursions. The service provides respite care for
parents and carers of children with Learning Disabilities up to school leaving
age. Bookings are made 3 months in advance. Parents are contacted by the Home and
consulted as to their requirements of suitable dates. Every effort is made by
the Manager to meet individual needs of both parents and client. A seaside holiday is arranged for the children (taken on a rotational
basis). Short holiday breaks are taken regularly at Billing Aquadrome near
