BREAST CANCER CAREBreast Cancer Care offers practical advice, information and support to women
affected by breast cancer or breast related problems. They also aim to support
partners, friends and relatives, members of the general public, health
professionals and the media. A range of information leaflets and booklets are available covering issues
including aspects of breast care and breast surgery. These are free to clients
and a small fee is charged to health professionals. A nationwide volunteer service operates which provides trained volunteers,
all with personal experience of breast cancer. They will telephone or visit, at
home or in hospital, any woman seeking information or emotional support. There
is also a partners volunteer service to the partners of people with breast
cancer. Also available is a personal and confidential prosthesis fitting service by
appointment.
