BRITISH POLIO FELLOWSHIP The British Polio Fellowship (BPF) is the only national charity caring
solely for those disabled by polio who live in the UK and Eire. Through the
central office, and its 50 branches, the BPF provides: - Financial and personal welfare.
- Counselling.
- Social, recreational and cultural activities.
- Residential and holiday accommodation.
- Vital communication through a bi-monthly magazine.
- Promotion of immunisation programmes throughout the UK.
Although the incidence of polio in the UK is now very rare due to the high
levels of immunisation, the everlasting effects dramatically changed the lives
of those who experienced it in the past. The BPF plays a vital part in the
lives of such people.
