BRITISH DSP SUPPORT GROUPThe British DSP Support Group aims to support sufferers of pelvic
dysfunction, in particular Diastasis Symphysis Pubis which occurs during and/or
after pregnancy and causes pelvic pain. The Support Group believes that DSP is
not always diagnosed and that women should be better informed about pelvic and
back pain during pregnancy. The Support Group's aims include the following. - To promote research into DSP and its allied disorders and to ensure the
dissemination of such research.
- To provide an organisation for the benefit and service of those with DSP
and associated disorders.
- To spread knowledge of the causes, alleviation and cure of DSP and its
associated disorders to sufferers, the medical profession and the general
public.
It provides the following. - Information on symptoms, diagnosis and treatment of DSP.
- Information on easing the discomfort caused by DSP, including during labour
and postnatally.
- A birth plan to be passed to medical professionals at the onset of labour.
- A protocol for managing the condition and appropriate action to take.
- Membership for an annual fee.
- Branches throughout the UK.
- Regular newsletter.
