BRITISH INSTITUTE FOR BRAIN INJURED CHILDRENBIBIC offers a fighting alternative to accepting brain injury as
untreatable. BIBIC's home-based therapy helps rehabilitate children variously
diagnosed as having autism, autistic tendencies, brain damage, brain injury,
cerebral palsy, developmental delay, Downs syndrome, dyslexia, epilepsy,
hydrocephalus, learning difficulties, learning disability, microcephaly. BIBIC provides a positive answer for parents who want to give their child
every opportunity to develop his or her full potential. Individual stimulatory
programmes are taught to parents during a week spent at BIBIC for each childs
assessment and evaluation, but the on-going treatment is designed to be carried
out by them in the family home. Four monthly reassessments enable adjustments
to treatment techniques as necessary. Periods of in-patient treatment therapy
are offered when appropriate. Children treated in the past have ranged from
those with mild learning difficulties to those in coma. Parental contributions towards costs are invited, except in cases of
hardship.
