BRITISH WHEELCHAIR SPORTS FOUNDATION

British Wheelchair Sports Foundation aims to provide, promote and develop opportunities for men, women and children with disabilities to participate in recreational and competitive wheelchair sport. Competitive and recreational sport has enhanced the lives of people with disabilities throughout the world. It is the tool by which the Foundation achieves its purpose. That is to improve the quality of life of those who use wheelchairs.

Sportstart - activity courses held at the Guttmann Sports Centre in Stoke Mandeville give an introduction to sport.

Inter Spinal Unit Games - most of the participants of the ten Spinal Units in the UK are introduced to sport whilst still in hospital. Each April we organise the Inter Spinal Unit Games attended by patients who are still hospitalised or recently discharged.

Competition - for those who like a challenge we stage annual events in which athletes compete against each other nationally and internationally.
