CHILD AND FAMILY TRUSTThe Child and Family Trust aims to help children in Scotland who suffer
abuse, neglect, insecurity and rejection and those who care for them. The trust
endeavours to end the vicious cycle of emotional damage suffered by children
who have suffered sexual abuse, emontional neglect, or even total abandonment.
The Trust offers specialised help to children and assistance to families to
complement traditional forms of therapy. The Trust places specialists within specific fields of childcare and works
on projects such as dealing with child sexual abuse, behavioural problems
(including Hyperkinetic Disorder), and teenagers excluded from school. The
Trust works to provide Fulton Mackay Nurses to go out into the community to
work with children who have special needs and also to provide support for the
parents. The Trust publishes guides for parents: How to cope when your child
has been sexually abused and a Practical Guide for Parents on
behvioural problems.
