EATING DISORDERS ASSOCIATION

This organisation is a national information and support service for people with anorexia and bulimia nervosa, and their carers.

The facilities available include:

telephone helpline (01603 621414), Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 6.30 p.m.
youth helpline (01603 765050), Monday to Friday 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.
self-help group network
membership scheme, costing £20 per year, or £7.50 for concessions (this includes an information pack and six issues of the newsletter "Signpost")
lists of local help
European Eating Disorders Review (a professional journal including current research into eating disorders)
leaflets ("Eating Disorders - A Guide For Primary Care" and "Eating Disorders - A Guide For Purchasing And Providing Services")
self-help programme for bulimic women
information packs, costing 6
various books for sale

If people have trouble getting through on the helpline, then they are recommended to write, sending a stamped addressed envelope.
