NATIONAL LEARNING AND ATTENTION DEFICIT DISORDERS ASSOCIATION - LADDER

AD/HD is better known as hyperactivity in Britain, the correct medical term is hyperkinetic syndrome. The American term is AD/HD (Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder); often referred to as ADD when hyperactivity is not present. ADD tends to be used synonymously with AD/HD.

The support available at the highest levels of the medical profession both here and abroad and our regular attendance at US conferences, means that LADDER's information is accurate, factual and up to date. Although most of members are parents or adult sufferers, and all the support and information necessary for those struggling to cope with the disorder is offered, the professional bias and high proportion of professional members and uncompromising stance towards the highest quality of information means that LADDER has become quickly known as the group best placed to help people with AD/HD in the country. If you feel that AD/HD is a problem for you, your family, or anyone else, do please contact the Association.

LADDER was the first and is now the premier national registered charity in the AD/HD field in this country which provides up to date information on the disorder, and a true multi-disciplinary approach, based on medication, psychological and educational interventions. The Association is in regular contact with the few professionals working in the field in this country, as well as many of those abroad. There are also links with American and Australian groups. There is also a large library of information. Educational meetings for parents and professionals are held in various places, and this will continue as information is expanding throughout the country. Please write to LADDER and enclose a stamped addressed envelope with your enquiry.
