Lymphoedema is the painful, distressing and often debilitating swelling of
the limbs and body.The condition is essentially incurable but its major
manifestations can be managed and controlled. The Lymphoedema Support Networks
(LSN) aims and objectives are as follows: - To provide support for people with lymphoedema.
- To provide information about lymphoedema and its treatment.
- To work towards the availability of better national resources for
lymphoedema treatment.
- To maintain contact with health care professionals working in lymphoedema
management.
- To promote a network of support groups throughout the UK for people with
lymphoedema.
The LSN is a registered charity and offers its membership the following. - A telephone helpline.
- Regular newsletters.
- Current information on lymphoedema and treatment in the UK and overseas.
- Selected publications.
