MICHAEL PALIN CENTRE FOR STAMMERING CHILDRENThe Michael Palin Centre for Stammering Children is a specialist centre for
the treatment of children who stammer. It is jointly funded by Camden and
Islington Community Health Services NHS Trust and the Charity, the Association
for Research into Stammering in Childhood (ARSC). Children aged 2-18 years may be referred by their GP or local speech and
language therapist. Children are assessed with the full involvement of their
parents with the assessment being funded by the charity, ARSC. Following
assessment, therapy may be recommended locally or at the Michael Palin Centre.
This is currently funded through the NHS. Where therapy at the Michael Palin Centre is considered appropriate therapy
will be recommended in line with one of four therapy bands depending on the
needs of the child.
