MULTIPLE BIRTHS FOUNDATIONThe Multiple Births Foundation (MBF) is a professional organisation in the
UK which offers specialised support to parents of twins, triplets and higher
multiple births and to give relevant advice and training to the medical,
educational and other professional groups which are concerned with them. The Foundation first helps parents to prepare for the twins' arrival and
then to cope with the special difficulties that sometimes arise both for them
and for other members of the family. It also helps twins themselves, including
adult twins, to develop their full individuality while still valuing their
twinship. The Multiple Births Foundation is an independent charitable organisation
which is mainly funded by charitable trusts and individual donations. About
half of its budget is spend on its educational work with medical and other
professionals and on promoting research.
