MUSIC FOR THE BLIND

Music for the Blind is a registered charity and the smallest radio station in Europe. It is an entirely independent registered charity run by volunteers and funded by donations. Features and services are as follows.

  • 5.5 million recordings in its archives - almost any tune or song recorded between 1906 and 1990 can be located within one minute and played.
  • A weekly music programme on 90 minute cassette tapes is mailed to over 755 listeners in the UK and abroad.
  • Membership is free to blind or disabled people over the age of 55.
  • Following 12 months' membership, grants for the purchase of new radio/recorders or repairs can be made. Grants are also available for first-time telephone installation for the blind or disabled.
  • 24 hour telephone contact available.
