NACC was founded as a national voluntary association in the United Kingdom
in 1979 and now has more than 28,500 members throughout the United Kingdom. The association welcomes as members anyone who has colitis or Crohn’s
disease, their families and friends, health professionals and anyone who wishes
to support our activities. NACC offers information and support services to people who are living with
Inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) and raises funds to support research into the
medical, health care, social and psychological aspects of IBD. In 1998, NACC responded to more than 12,000 enquiries and, since 1984, its
members have raised over £2.5 million for research.
