 | NATIONAL ENDOMETRIOSIS SOCIETY |
The Endometriosis Society was started in 1981. In addition to funding
research into endometriosis, and awareness of it among medical professionals
and the public, the Society also provides the following. - A national helpline available 365 days a year (number above).
- Over 40 clubs and groups nationwide.
- Individual replies to medical questions.
- A quarterly newsletter.
- Conferences and workshops.
- A comprehensive range of publications, including factsheets on treatments.
The helpline is staffed by trained volunteers, all of whom have
endometriosis and understand the effects of the disease from personal
experience. This is also open for partners and families. There is a referral
network so individuals can talk to someone about particular treatment she has
experienced. Contact the number above for further details including how to
join.
