PITUITARY FOUNDATIONThe Pituitary Foundation is a charity working to support pituitary patients.
There are currently in excess of 6,100 members who are supported in the
following ways. - By providing support to patients, their families and carers in local
support groups throughout the UK. (Contact the Foundation for a list of Area
Co-ordinators.) Because most of these disorders are rare, many patients have
had little or no opportunity to meet and talk with others who have already been
through the same experiences.
- Publication of the quarterly newsletter Pituitary News.
- Organising seminars delivered by endocrine and other specialists at the
annual national conference.
- Telephone and written support through the services of a nurse counsellor at
specified time slots throughout each week and by email.
Publications available include the following: The Pituitary Gland,
Prolactinoma, Acromegaly, Pituitary Replacement Therapy, Understanding
Kallmann's Syndrome, Diabetes Insipidus, Cushing's, Adult Hormone
