PSORIATIC ARTHROPATHY ALLIANCEThe Psoriatic Arthropathy Alliance (PAA) is dedicated to raising awareness
and helping people with psoriatic arthritis and its associated skin disorder
psoriasis. About 25% of people with psoriasis may develop a form of arthritis
called Psoriatic Arthropathy, which causes pain and swelling in joints and
connective tissue, accompanied by associated stiffness, particularly in the
morning. The most commonly affected areas are the hands, feet, lower back, neck
and knees and movement in these areas may become limited. Chronic fatigue is a
common complaint linked with this condition. Although considered a minority illness it is roughly estimated that up to 3
million people in this country will have the skin disorder psoriasis and recent
studies suggest that up to 25% of people with psoriasis will go on to develop
Psoriatic Arthritis. The PAA is involved in the following activities. - Raising awareness.
- Support for sufferers.
- Education.
- Campaigning.
- Disseminating information.
For an annual subscription, members can receive regular newsletters and
