SCOTTISH DYSLEXIA ASSOCIATION

The Scottish Dyslexia Association is a national voluntary organisation which represents 14 local branches throughout Scotland. Its aims are to raise awareness of dyslexia and its related difficulties and to act as a clearing house for enquiries on all aspects of dyslexia. The Scottish Dyslexia Resource Centre is based in Stirling. This Centre is stocked with books, teaching materials, specialist computer software, audio and visual aids covering all aspects of dyslexia. The Centre is available to all members of the general public and is open Monday - Friday, 9.00am - 5.00pm. Those unable to access the Resource Centre can arrange for a visit from the SDA.

Information, advice and support for dyslexics of all ages, parents, teachers, professionals and non-professionals is available from the local branches. In some areas, tutoring and assessments are available, as well as teacher training.

Contact can be made with the local branches through the SDA on the above telephone number. Also contact the above number for details of membership options (corporate, branch, friend of dyslexia) or to be added to the mailing list.
