ST PIERS

St Piers is the National Centre for children and young people with epilepsy and other special needs. It is a unique learning environment for some 220 students, a partner with Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children NHS Trust and the leading provider for young people with epilepsy in the UK. The Centre is based at a 200-acre rural site in Lingfield, Surrey. St Piers offers the following.

  • A school for children up to age 16 providing education based on the National Curriculum.
  • A further education centre up to age 19, offering a wide selection of courses.
  • Residential or day places at the school or further education centre.
  • Opportunities outside the standard curriculum including abseiling, swimming, canoeing, running a business.
  • A fully-staffed medical centre providing assessment and treatment.
  • Multidisciplinary team including teachers, doctors, nurses, social workers, therapists and support staff.
  • Leading edge services which mean that students can take advantage of the latest treatment for epilepsy and its associated conditions.
  • St Piers also offers medical, social and educational assessment services to guide families, carers and professionals seeking detailed individual evaluation.
