TED (THYROID EYE DISEASE) ASSOCIATION

The TED Association, a registered charity, aims to provide information, care and support to those affected by thyroid eye disease. TED is associated with the British Thyroid Association and a founder member of Thyroid Federation International.

TED has produced a leaflet in layman's terms (the first in the UK), has support groups and telephone helplines throughout the country, runs a Medical Helpline which includes specialists, both eye and endocrine, with an awareness and understanding of the distressing nature of thyroid eye disease and its treatment.

TED produces bi-monthly newsletters which include contributions both from those suffering from thyroid eye disease and those who care for them. Many consultants from home and abroad contribute articles and the mailing list now includes specialists in 43 overseas countries and some patients living abroad. TED also raises money for research/studies with a Medical Advisory Board to advise on its use.
