BLEPHARITIS

Blepharitis is a type of inflammation of the eyelids. These eye care instructions will help to control it by getting rid of the germs and crusts around the root of your eyelashes.

  1. Boil the kettle and pour some water into a small bowl or cup; allow to cool
  2. Wash your hands
  3. Add a generous pinch of salt to the water (bicarbonate of soda can also be used)
  4. Dip a piece of cotton wool into the water and thoroughly bathe one eyelid, paying particular attention to the roots of your eyelashes.
  5. Use a fresh piece of cotton wool for each eyelid - upper and lower - of each eye.
  6. If you have been prescribed ointment, rub a little into your eyelids using the tip of your finger, after the above cleaning has been completed. repeat twice daily or as necessary
